"Tomorrow" in Rattanakiri province different minority groups such as Charay, Kreng, Tompoun, Prov, Kachak, Kavet, Laotian, Loun and Phnong were born on the land of their ancestors and are living in tribal communities with their own language, traditions, beliefs and cultures. Moreover, they have separate forest and land to bury their ancestors, to worship and to collect forestry products to feed their families. Development has brought newcomers, enabling private land occupation everywhere, destroying the community forest of these tribal minorities and forcing them to shelter deeper and deeper into the forest. The impact of globalization is seriously threatening these communities and their future looks bleak.
It's going to be hard to retain their culture in the face of globalization.
