The astonishing elegance and diversity of styles and motifs that characterizes the jewelry of the Victorian Era exerts a powerful allure on people, not limited to the antique enthusiasts.
This video outlines the different themes, materials and techniques, such as the extraordinary use of enamel (cloisonné, champlevé), that mark the jewelry creations of this period.
The inspiration to make this video was drawn from the Oscar-winning movie "The Age of Innocence", directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder and Daniel Day-Lewis, a magnificent movie which not only perfectly captures the quintessence of the period, but also features close shots of beautiful Victorian adornments (bracelets, earrings, pendants, etc.).
