The Stanley® FatMax® Stud Sensor 300 is for the pro. I bought one of these today and will be returning it tomorrow. The bloody instructions are useless and the thing seems to tell me it detects AC in EVERY section of my house. What a waste!

I absolutely agree. I have an engineering degree and after looking at it for over a minute, I am on YouTube to find out how to use it properly. Stanley should be ashamed. Stanley also shouldn't include any instructions, just a link to YouTube. I will return it before Easter mass and buy a $10 model without the cushy grips and marking channel. Oh, what am I going to do without the grips and the pencil guide? My DYI jobs will just have to suffer.

I have one of these, and came here after finding the 'instructions' that came with it close to useless. How the hell do you use it?
