If you want to go into music history, lets talk about some guys who matter, who was James Jamerson, Carrol Kay, Bob Babbit ect. I have forgotten more about music than you will ever know. No, you only cover when you give credit and/or ask for permission, which they didn't do. They got sued numerous times and eventually added the original writes to the song credits and paid out numerous out of court settlements. They are not Elvis, who merely covered songs and got permission. Mayer and Cream gave credit and because they did had to pay a fee. Zeppelin stole, plain and simple.

Elvis gave credit where credit was due, unlike Zeppelin. All his songs were credited to whoever wrote them, which was almost always not Elvis. Zepp didn't do that, which is why they got sued so many times. It's apples and oranges.
