horse feathers is the marx bros. at their best! my fav line is "i'll horsewhip you, if i had a horse"!- groucho had the best one-liners ever!

The Marx Brothers were a mixture of ad-libbing and the work of their writers. It's a combintation, not one or the other. :)

Not true with Laurel and Hardy at the Hal Roach Studios-read about Laurel & Hardy-fellow actors and their directors on the Hal Roach lot said that many of their movies never came out the way they were written. Laurel and Hardy did a lot of ad-libbing and on-the-set improvisation.
