  • Just asked Geordie about his gear. GEORDIE: “I had a Vox AC30. It was my first real amp. I used it for rehearsals and maybe a couple of very early gigs. But a Stratocaster? Never! I never played a Fender Stratocaster at a gig. Not once. One time I used a Strat to mime for a TV performance. The knobs get in the way." Geordie said he also bought an early 1960s Vox AC-10 twin in London for 30 quid, using it for Killing Joke's first single, “Turn To Red.” Youth blew it out playing bass through it."

  • fantastic thanks for uploading this.do you have more ?

  • @musicusaddictus Three more are posted to Youtube from this show at Lucerna Bar in Prague. Search in youtube with: "Killing Joke Prague October 2010" You should also find Requiem, The Wait, and This World Hell.

  • Must do that venue next time. Knee height stage, side view, great. In the uk we have metal fences to keep us away from the stage so the bouncers get the best view because of health & safety Nazi's.

Geordie high up in the mix just how it should be but rarely is.

  • @billynoband - Yes, it is the most intimate venue. And the bouncers were absolutely polite... even to the one guy who jumped up on stage and started dancing.

  • Looks like Geordie's drunk, ha. Any time you like on the intro!

  • THANK YOU!!!!

  • @billynoband We probably rubbed shoulders at the Boat Club! That wouldn't have been difficult though, fuck it was small and packed. What a night! A Classic. "Tension"! Did you see them at the Ajanta too? The fuckers were late coming on and screwed up the last train for most of the audience!

  • @Satyagrahaha Judging from where you were standing, and where I was standing, i'm pretty sure you'll be lurking in some of the photos I took.

    Were you at the aftershow?

  • @Satyagrahaha I know and have seen that. All the band are obviously using any gear that is lying around the place in order to just mime. The point I'm making is that Geordie has never used any of that stuff (Vox/ Strat etc) in Killing Joke which is what billynoband claimed. So, I'm putting the record straight for those that want to know the truth regarding Geordie's gear. Hope that's clear now.

  • @bufon63 and @billynoband Geordie is playing a wood grain Fender Stratocaster on Belgian TV in 1981. Search youtube for "Killing Joke (Generation 80)." There are no amps or cables. They are miming.

  • @billynoband Not 79 either. You originally stated you had "internet photographic evidence" regarding your claims which you now fail to provide despite my requests for you to do so. So, basically, I don't believe a word of what you say re; Geordie/ Strat/ Vox. Case closed for me too.

  • @bufon63

Ask Jaz he will tell you. 1980 was the sg because I was there too Lyceum, Nottingham boat club and others. They were played a few gigs in late 79 perhaps then. Anyway subject closed for me.

  • @billynoband Pre 81? That means 80? No way. I was there.
