1991 study of 62 nuclear facilities by the ANCI found that the childhood leukemia rate for areas dropped slightly after the reactors started. Windham County, Vermont, where the Vermont Yankee reactor is located was reported to have only 9% of expected leukemia. Studies have failed to uncover a relationship between exposure to radiation from Chernobyl and leukemia. Therefore it is only possible that there was something else happening at Kruemmel.

@TheSfaaf U just throw some words, here we have a report made by journalists, real ones and good ones. Are just facts, nothing invented. And what is ANCI? Is trustful like FDA or IAEA? I lived for at 600km from Chernobyl, i eat many iodum pills back in 86. What u now about Chernobyl is only a kids story.See The Battle of Chernobyl and u will get a clue of the real thing. The studies that u praise have just failed to relate something, they don't tell nothing useful.

The study discussed in your video actually only found a correlation between nuclear plants and leukemia, however correlation does not imply causation. "The population's radiation exposure due to the operation of nuclear power plants in Germany would have to be a least a thousand times higher to be able to explain the observed increase in cancer risk" - Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel.

@TheSfaaf The sad thing is that with the help of corporate media and the immense American ego that u have, is too easy to manipulate u and u have no clue of this. Is not an American thing only, is a kind of universal thing, but u have the most influence in this world. Usually, what happens first in USA, happens after in the rest of the world. Liked or not, this is the reality in a corporate word.See aspartame,monsanto's gmo,etc,etc.

@xplanetopplstupid Also a quick search revealed that the nuclear plants were most often located in industrial centers (where the power is required) hence it is likely that there would be a correlation between power plants and cancer. What the study SHOULD of done is compare similar demographics, ergo industrial centers with nuclear power plants, and industrial centers without nuclear power plants. They failed at doing that.

@TheSfaaf When it cames to believe scientists payed by corporate interests is hard to get something credible, WHO-IAEA, in this video named, have brilliant scientists who work for their payers. Is nothing out of ordinary. As for the American Institutions, with all do respect that i a have for American science and American people, but lately u have less and less credibility. In the corporate era u are out of control an u became a giant laboratory for all kind of things.

@xplanetopplstupid what is the point of responding to an video that was recorded in english, with one made in another language? Also, here in Australia where I live, we have one nuclear reactor. Just one to make medical things. However we frequently get events where the will be a spike in the number of cancer cases. are these all caused by the nuclear reactor thousands of kilometers away?

The amount of radiation the public receives from outside a plants grounds is extremely minute if not none at all. In fact if any levels of radiation were present you probably wouldn't even see them over normal background radiation. Background radiation that every person receives on a day to day basis from the sun and natural decay of elements in the dirt around you. At that distance I can guarantee you that smoking a cigarette will expose you to more radiation than the power plant.

The study that found nuclear plants do not cause any form of cancer was by the (American) National Cancer Institute (NCI) which is part of the National Institutes of Health. It was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
