This is the first time I tried to max out my 2005 stock Yamaha R6.
The times listed below are estimates off video's time display:
Gear - Time - RPM - MPH
1st - 3 sec. - 15.5 - 65mph
2nd - 6 sec. - 15.75 - 99mph
3rd - 9 sec. - 15.75 - 122mph
4th - 13 sec - 15.6 - 143mph
5th - 19 sec - 15.25 - 157mph
6th - 28 sec - 14.5 - 166mph
0 - 131mph in 10 Seconds
I'm sure this bike could hit 170mph if I had a longer run to fully max out 6th gear. The only modification performance-wise to this bike was an Akrapovic slip on. Other than that its all stock
speedos are always off..i did about the same on my 05 , speedo showed 169 and it was gps'ed to almost 160....still fun as f and havent done it since

I used to ride over 130 mph all the time on my R6... until I experienced my first tank slapper. Never again until I get a steering damper installed. Lucky to be alive. My knees were all banged up.

You need to up the rpm shift light man, 13 is a bit low. Nice bike though i have a 04. Very nimble, love it. Good vid.

@bkurtz85 I've ridden 3 different years of the R6. Mine the 05, my friends 08 and another friends 2010. I feel like the 05 has a better low/mid range and the newer ones had a little better top end (sometimes lacking in the low end, but not by much). Honestly yamaha makes a great bike, you can't go wrong either way. Find one in good mechanical condition and the differences are very subtle. And if you really feel like you need a better low/mid range power... change the sprocket size.

Im looking to buy a R6. I hear the 05 is the fastest one. But I hear the 08 had alot of changes done to it. Do u know anything about that

Nice video but you aren't going quite as fast as it shows you are. Street bike speedos from the factory are anywhere from 3-5% off below 100 mph and even worse after that. I have a 2011 R6 that when I topped out said I was doing 172, but had a buddy physically clock me at 165. If you buy a speedo healer and get it recalibrated it will be pretty much spot on and then you'll really know
