@tarfu34 It is true that sometimes scientists will make a situation seem far worse than it is, but it better to be more aware, than not aware enough. (and by the way- I was not referring to this video when I wrote my comment about the bluefin. I just like copied and pasted.) Peace.
@tarfu34 Hi, so you are smart, eh? About the cod, I wanted to tell you the effects of the cod depletion on Newfoundland's economy and the people who depended on this 'renewable resource'(not whether it could evolve or not???). The moratorium changed Newfoundland forever. For quite a long time, inshore fishermen noticed a decrease in cod catch, but the warning signals were dismissed by the DFO. Scientists tried to tell the DFO to enforce more strict regulations, but they ignored them.
@cyrun Try it more of an adrenaline rush than you'll ever believe trying to reel in 800lb tuna. You can fight them for hours and get nowhere, other rods wont handle the enormous strain put on it when fighting tuna that big...its like hooking onto the back of a semi's bumper.
@Weck1one hi! thanks! The current exploitative activities towards our oceans are unsustainable, and will ultimately lead to the collapse of one of our most vital ecosystems. We have such short lives but we can make a huge difference. If we have the capability of destroying the world, we are also capable of saving it. -The duration of life is unimportant, but rather the way we live it is what matters-We can live life so happily, but we also have responsibilities as temporary guests on earth.Peace
