James Kalm slips in to the newly expanded Gavin Brown enterprise to check out the extremely ambitious show "Pattern and Degradation" by Rob Pruitt. Pruitt is enthralled with shopping mall kitsch, and riffing on this exhibition's theme seems intent on playing out even the thinnest of ideas to the point of absurdity. Low brow design, wall décor, tee shirt logos and folk craft all come in for a biting critique that, falls victim to its own cynicism.
Nice film Dude, but please work on your camera technique. I am almost throwing up, following your trip !
