Fire retardants are dangerous. They cause neurological and reproductive harm, thyroid disruption, and cancer.
If it can't be fought with water its not worth to fight it with dangerous chemicals that we eventually come in exposure with.
While some fires are set by people accidentally or purposely, a large number are natural and benefits the ecosystem in the longer term by burning out old underbrush.
Mobile homes could be pulled out for a while during the fire. Being poisoned isn't worth it.

hi guys i worked on this fire and the cause was undetermined... not lightning no evidence of cigarettes or campfires dont make assumptions sometimes a vehicle going by can cause sparks any number of reasons in temperatures like that

okay all you fucking young dumb idiots stop having your fucking camp fires in 35 degree weather its hot out you dont need it. i just got back from camping and 2 people we found were having a fire and we tell them to put it out and they tell us to fuck off umm hello pull your fucking head out of your asses. even people that smoke there is such thing as an ash tray...
