(Operator) Ψ= (Energy) Ψ... Quantummechanics-system the Energy of chemical systems i.e. molecules. Of course the models are very simple but there are some difficult mathematical challenge for example Simon McQuarries Physcal Chemistry. My favorite topic is still blackbody radiation... maybe the introduction into Quantum Mechanics.
