Taking Chance is an original HBO film based on true events. Kevin Bacon delivers a sincere and powerful performance as Lt Col Mike Strobl, a senior Marine officer who volunteers to escort the body of a fallen Marine, PFC Chance Phelps, back to his home town of Dubois, Wyoming. As his body is brought across America, many people are touched by Chance's sacrifice, and display their gratitude to Chance and Mike throughout their emotional journey back home.

My son is a Marine so it this movie hit close to home. This is a amazing movie. My wife cried through the whole movie, and yes I did my fair shair of crying.

I read about this escort in the book "Operation Homecoming". One of the best books I have ever read.
I just ordered this film on DVD. I also ride with the Patriot Guard Riders that no one that serves our country ever goes to their grave without them and their families knowing how much we appreciate their service and sacrafice.
