This video was made to stand up for the Mexican Immigrants, who are often de-personalized as one big, job-taking enemy. It was inspired by the book Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario, which tells the hard truth about what immigrants face to get to the United States.

  • that it's hard to find one. So theres jobs available but Americans don't seem to take them.

Third: yes, I said y'all. Half my family's southern, it's habit. If you think that's stupid then you need to grow up and learn not to believe stereotypes.

Fourth: haha who said I watch CNN. cause I don't :P

  • First of all, I disagree with "we have to help Americans first". What makes us so special that we should be served first and them second. We are all people, the only thing that separates us is a stupid line drawn by people. A stupid line should not determine who gets a job and who suffers.

Second. I've never seen an American nanny or house cleaner. Sure, they EXIST, but they're pretty few and far in between. Most people I know would much rather have an English-speaking nanny, but there's so few

  • @all y'all: Like Americans would take those jobs x)

  • This is the same girl I saw on the news, she was gang raped and killed by 8 illegal mexicans

  • @pseudohippie55 Your ancestors...coming "legally...."

You mean all those Europeans stowing away on ships? Yeah, real legal. True, most did come legally, but a fair amount (indentured servants and whatnot) came illegally and without wealth.

  • All illegal immigrants live in an impoverished life, not just in the US but also in their own home countries! But this is not the fault of US. If mexcian illegals are forgiven, the illegals from all over the world should be encouraged to come, and this will destroy the US...

  • @pseudohippie55 My dad's company hires Mexican migrant workers because no one else takes the jobs. They're paid fair wages, but that doesn't change the fact that they're the only ones that will work the jobs. No one else comes to ask for the jobs. It's a seasonal job, so it's not like it's confusing about when to come ask for them. I do disagree, to an extent, with the idea that Americans are lazy. I think we work really hard. But I also think that we're too proud to take those jobs.

  • @piccolojones A better reality? how is giving millions of people jobs that could go to americans (12 million to be exact) a better reality? We need to help our own people before we help ny other country. And when I hear someone say something as rudes as "y'all: like Americans would take those jobs" (your father proves how wrong she is) it's, to me, like she's telling me Americans are lazy. THAT makes me very very angry. She's not idealist, she has a perfect society ideology, and that wont hppen

  • @pseudohippie55 I guess there's not a lot to say in response to this, but I know this girl and I can tell you that she's not spoiled. She's an idealist and a bit of a romanticist, but everyone has that in them somewhere. I think it's more sad that you're "almost rooting for her to be disapointed [sic] and saddened" because it tells me that you're not dreaming for a better reality anymore. I could be wrong, but I feel like nothing changes when people stop dreaming.

  • @pseudohippie55 My dad actually works with a large portion of the strawberry industry in California, so I know that it's more than just his one company, but a bunch of strawberry growers from all across California. The Californian unemployment rate is roughly 12%, and I know that strawberry growers hire almost anyone that's qualified because it helps them harvest faster, yet there are few people who aren't Mexican who go get those jobs.

  • @piccolojones When little girl attacks America nd calls Americans lazy, it makes me mad. She's the kind of little girl who has gotten everything and is just plain spoiled. I'd feel bad when she goes into the real world and sees how wrong she is, but I'm almost rooting for her to be disapointed and saddened.

  • @piccolojones I wasn't ignoring your comment, I think your father's company is right, nd I'm proud of tht company and your father for working so dmn hrd, but I thoughtr it was more prmount to try to explain to this womn wht kind of fool she is, nd when she tells me Americns won't tke the jobs, it personally mkes me mad. I can tell she's just taking tlking points from the likes of CNN nd Michael Moore and doing 0 research. She seems to disrespect Americns by saying they won't tke the jobs.

  • @pseudohippie55 Way to ignore my response to attack the little girl. You're pretty awesome.
