9/11 - One Shot [2/2]

Start college tomorrow and I'm SO sorry I haven't been uploading.
I have this weird feeling that I should have finished it a different way, I have 1 more way of ending it but it was a bit distressing for me to write seeing as it was the way they found my uncles body /:
Part 2.

This one shot was physically the easiest but emotionally the hardest one shot I have ever wrote in my entire life. Well actually it was the hardest piece I have ever had to write.. It was hard for me to do it but I over came it knowing something good would come out of it

The line went dead. I felt as if my whole world had came crashing down right at that moment. I surely knew that, that was the last time I would have ever heard Selena's voice. I could feel it in my soul, she was gone and I couldn't have done anything to prevent it, I watched on live worldwide TV as my wife died infront of me.

For the next 56 minutes I stared at that TV screen as I watched the scenes of the day unfold. My cell phone was none stop ringing, my mom was downstairs with Selena's mom, dad and sister. They all tried to convince me to go downstairs and join them so I wasn't alone. But I refused

I was on my knees just staring up at the screen and then in a blink of an eye the South tower came crashing down. Selena's tower. As soon as I watched that happen, everyone came rushing up the stairs and into my room. I felt numb, the only thing I could physically feel was my moms tears on my bare shoulder blade.

20 minutes later there was a hard knock on the door. My heart broke some more because I thought to myself that it would be someone from the fire department telling me that they found Selena's body in all the debris but the next thing I knew I felt two hard arms wrap around the top of my body.

I opened my eyes to find my dad one side of me and my brother the otherside of me. After a few minutes of talking, they finally convinced me to get dressed and go downstairs with everyone so I wouldn't feel as alone as I was already feeling.

I looked over onto the clock on the wall and saw that it was 10:28am, just as I was on the last couple steps on the staircase I heard gasps come from the living room, I poked my head around the corner and saw the other tower coming down. I couldn't go in there and face everyone. I slid down the hallway wall just beside the door of the living room, sobbing into my hands.

The front door slammed again causing me to look up. I saw someone standing in the doorway covered in blood and dust. I finally noticed that it was a girl and she was staring at me then she finally smiled and I automatically knew who it was.

'Selena' I whispered standing up and rushing towards her, wrapping my arms around her, not having any other care in the world apart from knowing that she was safe and in my arms.

I work right down the block from where the towerws used to to be and used to go to high school down there. That day was horrible. Thank You for this :)
