Thank you very much. My problem was on my keypad - buttons 1,5 and 6 were not operating. After watching this (and gaining the confidence to have a go!), I stripped it down and found dirty connections at the rear of the keypad. Cleaned it up with a cotton bud dipped in contact cleaner and it now woks fine. Thanks again, SN.

Another note: The back labels in the phone's battery bay indicate that it's a beta (actually more of a pre-final release candidate than a beta), pre-release version (PROTO B5), and the company owns that phone for testing and demo purposes...
