  • I was thinking of going to see them in Lisbon next month, but thought I'd better check out what they sound and look like live these days.

Just as well I did. This is sad, sad, sad. I prefer to preserve my memories of their glory days, and give this tour a wide berth. I see this bunch when I visit my mum at the old folks home. Close to the Edge. I think the've fallen off and should move on to a dignified retirement.

  • @TheStormbird

Hey Stormbird! One thing to keep in mind. This was their very first show of the tour, which any band needs to "get the kinks" out.

Just thought I'd mention it just in case you didn't know!

    Rock On!

  • Alan White looks like Bea Arthur.

  • @stevedrums lol

  • So sick to death of yes fans like the guy who said "we like the old yes." Please freaking stay home! Why do you go to the concerts????? I never go to a concert I don't like. Please, my friends and I that love prog and Yes really are tired of you guys. Let us enjoy the music please? Why didn't you protest when Tony Kay left????? When Rick Wakeman left, when Jon Anderson left???

  • @0:40 "ok, we like the old Yes. What the fuck are you doing there then?Asshole!

  • @tet1963 Yeah, like Union. What a great album!

  • @cyberwing777 Their sound was different with Tony. He really "fit in" with the band. The worst part of "Tormato" was Rick's keyboard sound. Steve hated it, and found it horrible to track to. This was a major part of the reason they gave up on the next album. When Alan broke his foot, Yes gave a collective sigh of relief. Maybe 90125 would never have happened if Tony stayed, but I much prefer "the Yes Album" to Tormato. Plus Bruford liked Tony, and couldn't see why he was fired.

  • I can't get enough of this album. Live is always worse for me, and this being the first live to get the kinks out (was Ray Davies there?!!! lol)

I love Yes - old and new.

  • @VladtheEmailer Who in their right mind would protest Tony Kaye leaving? lol...

  • This may be one of their best albums in years. It's may be a Buggles song and Jon Anderson may not be singing lead. I love Jon Anderson as much as the next fan, but Benoit does a good job pulling this off. Does anyone remember the "Drama" album when Trevor Horn sang lead? Also not a bad album. This band finds a way to carry on under any circumstances.

  • Chris Squire ate Jon Anderson!

  • I think Yes needed to pull something totally original into a new album. The song was mediocre and was intended for the Buggles, not Yes. I am really hoping for Jon's return. I think Benoit is a nice guy, but he is a weak singer. And I am noticing the harmonies are not as Yes as they were. Jon also fed the band ideas which they molded into tunes........I loved Drama as well, and although it was a different period, those tunes were intended to come out

  • I like the old Yes too.

  • Benoit is average. I am sorry...just an average singer. I've been trying to get into this collection of tunes, but apart from Howe's instrumental, it hasn't done anything for me.

  • "ok we like the old yes" seriously? Kill yourself.
