I often wondered if anyone else noticed the obvious similarities. I actually have a copy of the original commercial from 1986 that has really decent audio, I'll post it eventually when I get some blank dvd's.
Great job on the editing!!!

Nestle's should have contacted the MP family BEFORE they made this. MP might have gone with it....... None the less, the commercial has its haunting beauty that.... I cannot resist.

Great find... Max is my fav artist and this was my fav ad outside of Benetton ads from the 80's

@jamessadtler Actually, according to the website from which I derived the original information, the court ultimately ruled in favor of the Maxfield Parrish Estate, and thus, Nestle was forced to pull its ad in 1989, after being aired for three years.

I'll try to get on it next week. My dvd recorder died so I have to figure some other way of recording from a vhs to a dvd. The video is on par with this one (or others on youtube) but the audio is cleaner. There are like 5 Nestle commercials that use the same theme song. Weird, after all these years there is still something haunting about it.

@StaciAutumns If you have a good copy I would be really pleased to see and hear it! I remembered all these years and went looking and found it here. But a better version is always more satisfying. Being an artist I noticed the borrowed style right away. I don't know how the lawsuit went but I would say this clip proves in was fair use (no direct copying). Did Jackie Gleason sue over Fred Flintstone? -Jim S.

Marketing isn't always as easy as it looks. Sometimes you gotta bite someone elses style.

The audio could have been enhanced a bit also... with echoes fading out at the end..... and no, I'm not on Acid....... 9-2-09
Who ever did this video, it is fantastic. I have Daybreak on my wall. The first time I saw this commercial I about crapped my diapers being a Parrish lover..........

Thanks! Largely, it's the features of MAGIX Edit Pro 14 that make it so easy.
