  • According to Wikipedia, Captain Chris Stricklin flying Thunderbird #6 survived the ejection (at 140 feet of altitude). The accident was caused by a miscalculation of Mountain Home Air Force Base's (Idaho) mean altitude above sea level.

  • Its astonishing he survived that. Also, did anyone else notice that right before the plane hit the ground, the glass top came off and he came right out of his seat..?

  • way to low to the ground for a loop

  • he was grounded for the rest of the show season and later transferred to a combat fighter unit after the show season was over.
