Affirmative Action is Unnecessary

The answer is putting more emphasis on lower income neighborhood schools and education not affirmative action.

Affirmative Action was never necessary, either for racial or sexual minorities. All businesses desire to make money, and so they would never hire a white straight male person over a minority if that minority was a better hire. They would want the person who would make them the most money.

cont....What about wealthy White business owners who perpetuate the same hiring practices because they have a tendency to hire who they know? Studies show that people are more incline to hire someone who they are familiar with or who they feel they share a commonality with. Nobody bitches and complains about that form of AA.George W. Bush is a prime example of this type of Affirmative Action. A well to do family who got their C average student into an Ivy Leage institution. Shit happens often

cont.... AA forces employers and other agencies to take a hard look at candidates and ignore these biases. There is also and underlying notion that Blacks were only admitted solely because of race and not credentials which is bullshit. Race constitutes as a percentage of the decision process and usually, Blacks are just as qualified or even more qualified than there White counterparts. Also, White Women are the largest beneficiaries of AA.

I'm truly disturbed by the sweeping generalizations about Blacks and the lack of knowledge about this subject. Until implicit biases towards Blacks and other minority groups disappear, AA will always be needed in this country. If AA was never implemented, qualified Blacks or any other minority groups would have never had a chance to begin with. I hate to burst your bubble but people still have a tendency to judge based off of stereotypes and preconceived notions that are formed by the media.

I dont think affirmative action makes any sense anymore... im a Hispanic male and i doubt very much that AA is fair at all... I dont like the idea of encouraging one group over another no matter what excuse someone could come up with at the end of the day AA IS a form of discrimination.

@MultiSmartass1 You seem to think that all "races", or whatever you prefer to call it, have the same average iq, so I brought up two extremes to prove that this is not the case. So, do you think that both groups have the same average iq (given that they grow up in the same environment)?

@MultiSmartass1 Do you think that humans are somehow excluded from the theory of evolution? No, I'm not saying that blacks are superior physically; I'm saying that some races have the upper edge in some sports because we have evolved differently (ie. west africans are the best sprinters, east-africans are best at long distant running, caucasians are best at weightlifting etc)

My theory is that this also goes for micro evolution within the brain, and I have all the empiric evidence on my side.
