Bradford: Another Day - Another (non English) Parade!

A report in yesterday's Bradford Telegraph & Argus newspaper reads:

The rain held off as the Lord Mayor's Parade wound its way around Bradford city centre today.

Hundreds of people lined the route to watch the extravaganza of colour and music pass by.

More then 1,000 schoolchildren from the district took part in the parade, dressed in a variety of creative costumes.

The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Howard Middleton, said: "Everyone has got to be impressed by the amount of work that has gone into the costumes.

I think you will find that Bradford has a German area with German street names and people of German extraction. They, however, feel no need to have a fecking parade denoting their culture and if they did the BNP would love them!!!

This is Bradford a town that should have a brass , marching band not something that I can see in the Carribean ,Rio , Trinidad ...

I yet to see Yorkshire Marching Bands in thses parts of the world , while on active service - so its wrong to impose them in BRADFORD , it gains no respect from anyone ! including a Gurkha who is full of ADMIRATION FOR MARCHING , BRASS BANDS and the sound of bagpipes

Interesting video-my local council refused us permission to close a cul-de-sac road off 4 the jubilee yet one of the busiest and biggest roads got closed 4 'EID' celebrations the whole system sucks !!!!! Thanks for sharing
