WMATA Alstom 6047 - sped up door chimes

The door chimes on Alstom 6047 are running at high speed, shown here on the Yellow Line at Archives-Navy Mem'l-Penn Quarter station on the Washington Metro.

What you are hearing is the standard door announcements:

*ding ding* "Doors opening! Step back to allow customers to exit. When boarding, please move to the center of the car."

*dingdongdingdong* "Step back, doors closing!"

However, in this case the announcements are running at high speed. This only existed on 6047. 6046, its mate, was running the chime at the regular speed.

This playback problem has since been corrected on Alstom 6047.

@mtattrain According to my records, I rode Alstom 6047 again on March 14, 2009 and noted no unusual door chimes at that time, so it would seem that the problem has since been rectified.

doesnt look like a alstom 6000 its a 5000

Trust me, it's definitely not a 5000-Series. The double ceiling bar is a dead giveaway that this is a 6000 and not a 5000.

Additionally, the motors are audible, and the motors are definitely Alstom ONIX motors. The 5000's use Bombardier Mitrac motors, which sound completely different from the Alstom motors.
