Direct Rail Service's trial passenger trains to serve the Sellafield Nuclear plant got under way in January 2012 with a class 37/4 and four MKII coaches working Carlisle to Barrow in the morning before returning empty stock to Sellafield in the afternoon and continuing on back to Carlisle. Of course at this time of the year in Cumbria the light and weather is appaling but later on in the video the sun does get out (and goes down really quickly!) over the next few weeks I'll shoot more as the light improves.
Great video Kev. I always liked the class 34 and their sound!

Thanks Frank. It does depend on the driver as well. I know the two lads driving the trains in these shots and there is a marked difference in techniques. The latest 'drive by wire' locomotives don't allow the driver to really make a difference.
I'm hoping, as the conditions improve, to get some good shots around Park South and over Ravenglass viaduct where they can open it up
