Once again William Christie, Les Arts Florissants (they have recently celebrated the 30th anniversary) and Pier Luigi Pizzi converging as an inspired team performed a top class work. First Spanish performance of the opera and the second of the new Monteverdi trilogy by teatro Real co-produced with la Fenice.
Badoaro's libretto, based on Books 13-23 of Homer's The Odyssey, narrates the vicissitudes of Ulysses after his arrival in Ithaca, following on from twenty years of journeying and attempting to make his return follwoing the Trojan war. Aided by Goddess Minerva, he succeeds in being reunited with his son Telemachus, taking revenge on a group of deceitful suitors and being recognized by his faithful and patient wife Penelope.

  • Potrei sapere se i movimenti scenici sono di Gheorghe iancu come in alcuni lavori del M° Pizzi? Grazie.

  • @DARTMILANO buongiorno. Questa volta il maestro Pizzi ha scelto Roberto Maria Pizzuto per la parte coreografica. Gheorghe Iancu ha curato quella de "L'Orfeo", primo volume della trilogia barocca di Monteverdi pubblicato in DVD nel Giugno del 2009.

  • GRAZIE !!!!! PLEASE WHEN WILL BE AVAILABLE L'ORFEO  AND THE REST OF MONTEVERDI - WILLIAM CHRISTIE _ LES ARTS FLORISSANTS IN BLU-RAY - I HAVE BOUGHT IN DVD AND THE SOUND IS EXCELLENT AND GORGEOUS BUT THE IMAGE IS WORST !!!! THIS MONTEVERDI SERIE IS THE BETTER !!!!!! PLEASE BLU-RAY !!!!!!
