Michael Krebs and Debra Ann Miller portray President Abraham Lincoln and First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln in this 60 minute play. A group of unexpected guests arrives at the Lincoln White House on the eve of the President's assassination and catches the First Family unawares. The Lincolns entertain as best they can with anecdotes and yarns. Though relieved that the Civil War is over, Mary is overcome with grief from the loss of two of her young sons. First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln was VERY educated. She had over 10 years of formal learning and had traveled to France/Europe and spoke it very well! President Lincoln had about 2 years under his belt and was self taught! They were total opposits but were the perfect pair!

@GreyLittleKitten Mary was her husband's temperamental foil, but fiercely loyal to him. She survived him and three sons. She never opposed or spoke against him in public. The media were opposed to her just for having Confederate ties. Didn't matter that she camped Union soldiers in the White House, visited the sick and dying in army hospitals, or organized supplies to be sent to the front.
They called her a Confederate spy.

Accurate characterization by Miller. Mrs Lincoln was fast off the mark, often high strung, with the Southern manners that were really hers. They did call each other Mother and Father at home. Lincoln called her Molly in private.

Best Lincolns ever!
