When I saw the first "Building Projections" about a year ago, I realized that not only did I instantly know how it was being done, but also that I could do this myself -- as if I had been waiting for a medium like this. Creating special effects for 20 years left me with the perfect set of skills to do just this. Of course, there is a big difference between merely projecting a film on a building (Everybody with a projector can do this!) but playing with the unique features of the construction, morphing it into a completely different object, rearranging the architecture, even exploding and wrecking the building, which is only possible, since the advent of computer graphics.
Now I wondered if it was possible to create a building projection on the Hollywood Sign?
The sign is located on a steep hill which creates serious structural problems - where to install and mount your projectors?
But through the miracle of CG we can do all this and more. Though, when you project on a sign, you are severely limited to effects that make sense in an environment which is not a building, but are fragments of shapes on a hill.
If you are interested to pour some computer generated sparkles over your building and change it into something nobody has ever seen before -- then you might email me and we can start having ideas...
Is this like on the actual sign?

Wow, this is great! Can I use some for a non-profit video I am making?
