As for transgender related popculture, you need to watch Hedwig and the Angry Inch. This movie changed my entire perspective on love, and life, and what it means to be happy.

So definitely check that out.

What courage it must have taken for you to go through such a dramatic change. I am not trans (I'm a happy female in a female body), but in watching some of your videos, it really does become clear that this is something that ultimately has made you much happier- more you. Good for you!

I would hope any reputable dictionary would make a concerted effort to ensure that their definitions are correct, but I'm sure some dictionaries would make errors.

But my dictionary generally gave the same answer you did

thats what they mean. fyi the dictionary doesnt always give the right deff. for the terms because sometimes their made by people who dont know or care what the true terms are. its always good to ask a trans person what the terms are. you wouldn't ask a fish what type of birds their are in the sky would you? lol

transgender persons are people who know they are the wrong gender but do not need/want to get the surgery done. they are happy and content living in their bodies and just dressing in their true genders. some do take hormones, some dont.

transsexuals are people who take hormones AND have the surgeries done. they become legal genders of what they should have been. i am female to male transsexual, so i am becoming a LEGAL male.

ok so i just looked in the dictionary, and i got the answer. it would probably have been smarter to look there first. now i just made myself look stoopid!

Forgive my ignorance, but could you explain the difference between transgender and transexual? i know what transgender is, but the other one always confuses me. And there's so many myths and stereotypes that go round in the media that i don't know what to believe. some ppl THINK they know, but they probably don't... so i think you're probably the person who can give the right answer.
