  • I agree with Dave. Lets add some road courses to justify the cost. Let's try it on short tracks! Wherever good, rainy times are had...

  • @lukefresh58 Thanks, Ive been very lucky and honoured to drive some amazing machines these past few years! Racing is my life and my goal is indycar!! But im very thankful to be racing at all!!

  • @a7racing sort of apples to oranges with the formula car. you're losing all of your rear down force in a slow corner, thus no forward bite. definitely cool that you've had the chance to wheel both of those cars though.

  • @lukefresh58 IDK about that. I always found that 500 hp 3400 pound mustang is easier to drive in the rain then a 1000 pound 175 hp f2000 car. The F2000 car in the low speed corners is just evil!!! Karts are also rather evil in the rain!!! I agree with you about the drivers though, they struggled to just drive in damp conditions in the 2009 race!

  • @a7racing heavier cars have the advantage when it comes to hydroplaning, but not necessarily handling. the problem with letting the drivers do all the work is that there's only a dozen or so who actually know how to drive road courses let alone in the rain, while the other 30 would just end up wrecking and causing caution after caution. it's exactly what we saw in montreal.

  • @lukefresh58 to be fair, in the rain the heavier the car, the better it handles. Anti lock brakes aren't really needed, and let the drivers right foot be the "restrictive spacer".

  • Wimps.

  • to be fair, cup cars are insanely over powered, heavy as hell, have no anti lock breaks and pre historic suspension. i'm all for more road courses and running in the rain, but nascar needs to consider allowing teams to swap to a restrictor plate and consider giving them anti lock breaks if there gonna run in the rain, at any track. the nationwide cars already use a more restrictive spacer at road courses if im not mistaken

  • we race motorcycles in the rain... don't be wussies, get the rains on and get the hell out there and do your job.
