We Now Have A Total Gangster Government

Wow, every time I see this clip I am amazed at how out of touch with reality this woman really is.

What she is describing is not new. In fact, it is the way government and business have operated for over 100 years under Rep. and Dem. administrations!

She is describing "corporate welfare", which is the result of big business lobbying for contracts, land, tax breaks or unfair competitive advantages. The only reason that is allowed is because big business writes large checks to buy them!

And don't forget "elitist".

They use this one as code for an educated minority. We are not supposed to be educated, in their eyes.

Yes, the vocabulary is there, but I am not sure of the motive. I think that it is more because someone dared to challenge the hegemony of old, white males that the knee-jerk reaction is what we see.

Rather than engage Obama (or us) on policy issues, they use that language.

Of all people, Bachmann, a female member of Congress ought to know better...

I'm only claiming racism because the language is typical of republicans who can't handle a black man in charge. "Uppity", "gangster", "boy", "thug", all words used by southern politicians (the second co-opted by Bachmann) to describe the first black president. If anyone wants to point out Presidents Bush or Clinton being called such names, be my guest.

I don't know if I would go so far as to claim racism, but I agree that it is hypocrisy.

Just imagine if we had claimed that about Bush? We would have been shouted down as traitors and treasonous to acuse a "wartime president" of such activities.

The reason the Europeans fared better than we did during the meltdown is that, in Europe, the government controls their financial institutions instead of the other way around, as in the U.S.!!
