Bridgetown's was incorporated in 1897, but has a deep history tracing back to British settlements in the 1700s, an earlier Acadian settlement called Gaudetville, and further back to Mi'kmaq settlements throughout the area.

I heard they are going to close the schools. Sad to say Bridgetown is a ghost town. Has been that way ever since the government closed Britex!!

I am fortunate to live close enough to Bridgetown to be able to visit usually once a month. I miss the community connections and the opportunities we had within walking distance. I love going to town or walking with Tammy:) and my girls when I am home and running into people I've known! For those of you who remain, be so thankful for what you have. Bridgetown is an oasis in the midst of a world of disconnect. Anyone have a job to offer up?!:)
