  • Get that woman a microphone!!! I've always wondered when and where this happened? And why no one gave Patti a mic?! Not that she needed it!

  • How do you know she didnt have a mic? I mean it does sound like she didnt!

  • its one hell of a performance like only patti can deliver

  • I sure hope you will post it!

  • @LenovoFightsPoverty African slaves would sing it to each other as a hint to move through the rivers when escaping to freedom so as not to be caught by overseers

  • Does anyone know if this is on a CD??? If so, what particular CD or DVD???

It is totally awesome!!! Prince AND Patti together as Prince tears it up on the guitar!!! Wow! N-I-C-E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Now this is the Patti Labelle I fell in love with. This woman's voice is like a force of nature. It's almost unbelievable her power and control. Even without a microphone her voice travels over other singers with no effort at all. It's funny because at 1:06 1:07 she sound kinda like Donald Duck and I don't mean that in a bad way. It's just amazing the things she could do. Sadly, though this was when her voice was at it's most powerful. She is unable to sing like this today. But I still love her.

  • @LenovoFightsPoverty - Yes, this is indeeed spirital. Please know that the there are 2 things that this deals with - 1. Baptism, 2. God had the isreallites going through the water to get to the other side (safety) - Also the most important reason i believe is that it was a slave tune - This song let slaves know to go accross the water. "God's gonna trouble the water" means that he would do something to the water to help them be safe. Really, once crossed their scents were gone! cant be tracked
