A quick refresher for Grade 8 students to remind them the algorithmic process to follow when adding or subtracting fractions. This is ONLY one possible way to go about doing these operations. Students should not forget that they can also use number lines, grids with counters or fraction strips. If you prefer one of those methods but forget how to do it, ask Mr. Burke in class.

  • The whole point of the new math curriculum in Ontario is to focus on an understanding of the concept, not about how fast you do it or how many questions you get done.
