A Bulgarian folk dance from the Shope region.

The choreography Jove Malaj Mome that is now popular all over the world,
is based on the village dance, Jove, that was first
introduced outside of Bulgaria by Dennis Boxell in Stockton 1965.

Jove is a complex meter 7/16+11/16 Bulgarian dance from the Shope region. It
is also known (as Jove or Jovica) in Nisava and Pirot, the Shope region of Serbia.

Presented by the Dunav dancers. Uploaded by www.dunav.org.il

  • Wow ! 1965 ? I was there, as an 11 year old girl and learned it from Dennis. It is still one of my favorites.
