The term 'DRAG' came about from Shakespeare, when only men would play, so in the technical part of the play, the script would read, "SoandSo enters stage left, Dressed As A Girl" and Dressed As A Girl was abbreviated to conserve space.

Well, if we just did an impersonation of someone, and did EXACTLY what they do, where would the fun it that be?
I know if I was in the audience, and I saw someone doing something boring, and not over the top, I sure wouldn't want to even tip them 50 cents.
Going over the top makes Drag what it is. Without it, we'd just be ugly boys, in womens clothing.
