There is nothing stopping private companies from setting up media channels and applying for licenses to broadcast, they dont because the demand simply isnt there and theres papers for all sides.

The SNP get treated fairly by the television media, if they didnt they would never of even got enough seats to form the Scottish government in the first place. Ofcourse the media is going to be more pro union than separatist. Its like imagining America media supporting the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

although it's a rediculouse comparison. unfortunatley it very true, the SNP are seen in whitehall as a threat to the british establishments status quo, and they call in favours to protect the status quo! does it make it right? of course not! but that's what a democratic & peaceful organisation is up against when it plays by the rules of the establishment that set them!

Its impossible to change the views of the country and its establishments though. Parties like the SNP and sadly even the BNP must have the right to take part in the democratic process, and the bbc / tv media in general cant be totally biased against them, but its impossible to take a neutral stand point on major issues.

But this is a problem faced by everyone. If Scotland was independent, a small minority may want independence for a region like the highlands. Theyd have the same claim of bias

I care about Scotland and the whole of the United Kingdom. I respect the people of Scotlands right to choose if they want to continue being part of this union (i think they do) but if the vote goes the other way then ill respect their wishes as will the UK government and Scotland will become an independent country.
