  • I taped this off the radio, perhaps 20 years ago. It's still one of my very favorite versions of the Rach 3.

And, BTW, you, too, are a fine pianist. I've enjoyed listening to you.

  • @snaaptaker Very nice of you, thanks a lot.

  • Can you upload the 2nd movement please!?

  • @chiv78 It is uploaded

  • After listening to the first few minutes of this post - I took the time to listen to my own recording - it is amazing. Thank you.

  • @moiraforjaz I am glad you like it. Thanks a lot!

  • @chiv78 I want to add...that I was standing close to the piano listening to this beautiful music. That was, for me, a real approach with a classical music, especially Rachmaninov. I almost fell in love...Now I feel the same emotion ( smth like a chill ). If you meet him again ( is he still your teacher? ) send him my best regards ( from Margaret ). I am his faithful fan. Good luck!

  • @chiv78 Hello! I agree with you! You should consider yourself very lucky! Vladimir Viardo is a fantastic pianist. I love Rachmaninov too.....thanks to "Vovka", as I used to call him. Yes....because I met him in Warsaw more than 30 years ago. I had an honour to be his translator-interpreter during his long staying in Poland. I was assisting him during his performances and rehearsals. He had been playing mostly Rachmaninov: concerto No. 2 e No. 3.

  • I have listened to so many versions of this concerto and for me this is the best one by far. i am grateful I managed to get the CD. it is so inspiring.

  • Great!!!

  • This is my teacher!!! I am so blessed!!!!!!!
