Silhouette Cameo Basic Features and Functions

The all new Silhouette Cameo form Silhouette America is finally here to replace the Silhouette SD. If you have used an SD before you will be right at home with the Cameo. Many of the features and functions work the same as with the SD.

Notably some of the differences include first off a new sleek look. One of the most significant differences between the Cameo and the SD is the increase in cutting capacity. The Cameo can cut 12 inches wide verses the 9 inches of the SD.

Also when it comes to cutting capacity the Cameo will cut up to ten feet of length, that is 120 inches compared to the 39 inches of length capacity on the SD.

One other great new feature, which will also be available for SD users is the improved blade and housing. This new setup makes the blade adjustable just by twisting the cap rather than having to change to different colored caps that are easy to misplace.

The Cameo comes with the free Silhouette Studio software, which is a powerhouse in its own, but also has available the Silhouette Studio Designer Edition.

This software upgrade will give you the ability to do things such as import .svg files, make custom rhinestone templates and sketch patterns, along with other advanced features for custom artwork.

For all the different features talked about, why are you only showing that it can cut the word hello? Wish you would have showed more things this machine can cut or maybe actually cut something next time

Is that a netbook? I just got a cameo & was thinking of loading software to a netbook, but a lot is softwares aren't compatible because is the size/resolution limitations. Thanks.

And then they take to court " make the cut" programer because they made it work with there cricut machine. They didn't want there costumers to be creative and think out the box.

Yea that's what I'm going to get. My wife has a cricut. That things limit your ability. Because with out a cartridge you can't do anything. They hold you back to want you want to do.

@miapt4you I use it with a new book 10", without any trouble. It is the crciut software that will not work but Silhouette does. And the Silhouette software is much better as well.
