  • ben, there are some in the UK already that haven't and dont use money. If you do a search you will see. Also, you seem to advocate accumulating more than you actually need? Is that a good thing? I don't know either way yet, I simply ask cause I've been weighing up the idea of a need and resource based economy not based on money and like the idea. I like the idea where it can never cost too much, and only lack of materials or laziness can stop you.

  • @deanwrayUK

    1) accumulating more than you need is not a bad thing.

    2) there is a reason I have not heard of those people who don't use 'money' and it is the same reason I have heard of the London Stock Exchange

    3) resource based economy is stil money it's just a different type, i.e. commodity money. money = value = energy. there is no escaping money

  • @benlowreyhimself

    1) how can you be sure you dont deprive someone else by taking more than you need? The various banks, religions and mega wealthy horders are doing quite well then.

    2) Or maybe along with money they dont care that much for publicity also?

    3) Value/Worth money allows us to say, it's not economical, it's too expensive. Thats one thing I belive holds us back from many things.

  • @deanwrayUK

one does deprive someone else of something with any action one takes. this is guaranteed.

  • Ben should host a late night TV show lol

  • How you can choose not to use money is beyond me!! Unless you know alternative forms of money then you dont have a choice - period!

Is it part of the spirit to want more than other people or dominate and cause anarchy- perhaps but it depends on what is meant by spirit. I would say those desires are more a part of the mind than part of the spirit though it could be argued that mind emerges out of spirit and if it does this may or not imply that spirit in some way has certain tendencies.

dont you have any control over the balance? From what you just said (maybe mistaken) but are you saying one has to try to be both good and evil? Or is evil something that has to exist to create the scale to be judged? Either way, I know there is both. You say I'm deluded about how the universe work, never said I knew. As for philosophy, are there lots of answers there? Or more questions/speculation? Anyway, I still think I'm strong enough to choose/try good :) and not horde!

  • shit with technology these days who needs money build the shit your self . you can build a car from scratch in a day at the gm plant and most of it is done by automation now . money is the old way of exchange and we need to learn a new way of exchange . i do agree it was that way now it is transforming . grow food permaculture pick it yourself or hunt it . you want to use an exchange with some one write your own debt to them . i do agree with you though for now :)
