I had pre paid legal and I was on year probation for something I had going on before I joined. I was called into my probation office and was told I was to sign release/completion of probation papers and was incarcerated for non payment of fees. My husband paid fees same day but they wouldnt release me. We called pre paid legal by the time a lawyer called us back, I had been in jail 14 days, lost my job, and paid got expedited to another ST. Had to pay an xtra $300 on top of $700 fees 2 get out.

@fromny2hi . Wow that sucks. Unfortunately , I've heard a number of stories that are pretty harsh when it comes to Pre-Paid Legal although not all as bad as yours. Never been a part of there program but we did used to use them for my brick-and-mortar business and were pretty pleased-but if you want anything big for them to handle- forget it. Condolences you had to go through all that BS.

It's a rip off, as I found out when I needed an attorney. Got one that did nothing and then a barrage of rude voice mails. All they want is your money, and offer NO service at all!

The problem with Prepaid Legal is that once the customer signs up for the membership, Prepaid Legal does everything in it's power to refuse the service.
