Dr. Jim shows the oscilloscope of a normal voice, and then passes his voice through a microphone and analog amplifier, and then through circuitry that takes away the carrier wave, or in a human, it would be the vocal cords, leaving only the modulation wave, or oral cavity, cheeks, lips, tounge and teeth that make our words, the modulation of the vocal cords. He uses this waveform in order to do his version of speaker-independent voice recognition, using his machine intelligence software.
