I've read Holmes for over half a century, and nobody has ever portrayed him as I have imagined him as the late and wonderful Jeremy Brett.

    God rest you sir.

I was raised, as were many people, with Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes. However, once I saw Mr. Jeremy Brett, I knew there was no comparison and I doubt there ever will be.

Did you noticed, how much was there Jeremy suffering? I have always admired him for his mental strength. He was extremely sick in this episode. Look into his eyes - he's suffering so much! And compare it with Cardboard Box, which was after Red Circle. Jeremy's there a completely different and he looks younger. It's terrible how psychological problems can destroy a person and is nice to see Jeremy in a later episode in better condition than here. Compare it also! (I'm very sorry for my English :)

If the M1 is blocked I'd consider a steamer from London Docks to Liverpool

After watching Rathbone for years, it took a bit of time to get used to Brett. I now realize how brilliant Brett was.
