[TRK] Cyprus and UN Security Council Resolution 1325

In observance of the 10th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, a series of events were organized in Cyprus. The Gender Advisory Team (GAT) participated in a billboard event organised by bicommunal women's group Hands Across the Divide from the 24th September till the 26th September 2010 at the Ledra Street/ Locmadji crossing point. Then at the center of downtown Nicosia on 27th September, a presentation event was organized by Hands Across the Divide, in collaboration with GAT. Lastly, on 29th September, at a 1325 Open Day event, the representatives of GAT along with the representatives of the partner civil society organizations of Cyprus 2015 and ENGAGE gained the opportunity to meet with the Special Adviser of the Secretary-General for Cyprus, Alexander Downer, and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Cyprus and head of the UN Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP), Lisa Buttenheim.
