  • SPOILERS!! I enjoyed this movie although the end where she realises that guy is one of them is a an annoyingly large plot hole. Also, how did Lars survive? We don't know and they don't tell us, kind of feels like a cheap trick. And WTF was up with those credits at the end? Wtf. Only other complaint was the title, why not call it The Thing: Beginning or something, its not a remake at all like I thought it was! Worth watching if you watched the original I think.

  • @Edbrad I´m gonna try and answer all your questions baes on what the director himself explanined and some script reads. First off though Carpenter´s classic from 1982 was not the original "the thing from another world" from 1951 is.

Lars was knocked out by Jameson or Carter when he came to he hid until the storm cleared which is smart. The credits at the end is an "arc" or "story-bridge" if you will to tie the 1982 movie together nicely with this movie since this movie is a PREQUEL. =)

  • @TheThingPrequel JC's film wasnt a remake of the thing from another planet, the thing from another planet was basicly frankenstien in the snow. it just gave him an idea. the movie was acutally based off a book called i see you. i think thats the name

  • @Carmine2825 JC´s movie WAS a remake since the movie "the thing from another world" from 1951 had already been made from the book "who goes there" However JC´s movie stayed more true to the book which is why it is being considered "original" since it was so far off from the 1951 movie. I Never talk about JC´s movie as the original or the remake I use the term "CLASSIC" is has a better ring to it. :)

  • @Edbrad please explain why you thought it was such a plothole with the whole kate and guy realasing he was a thing. Ill give you point for the complaint to the title though. THE THING.... it´s just weird why they used the same title. should have been called "someTHING" or just THING

  • The movie was great, my favorite scene though was the scene with Kate and Juliette great chase scene.

  • @Samsodomy I took part 1,2,3 & 4 and cut them altogether. Each part was aprox 4 min long.

The finished product is what you see here. :)

  • @Carmine2825 The story was "Who Goes There" by Joseph Campbell (not sure of the first name) back around 1930 or so.

  • @TheThingPrequel thats the book who goes there not i see you haha xD well either way. but seriously i wanna know when the hell carter got infected, i figured everyone else out but him! because she said he was human when he got back to camp so when did he get infected please help me!

  • lololololololol Adam ditching at 10:55.....if only you did that with the Edvard thing T_T

  • @BigBadassR yea i get wut ur sayin but if it requries that much of an explanation than my previous statement couldn't have been too far fetched. in any case, u don't gotta defend him to me or anyone else cuz the prequel portrayed him as a badass, and for all intents and purposes he was.

  • @343xbv The fact that Lars wasnt able to stop the dog/Thing doesnt mean he couldnt shoot. Bullets cant stop the Thing, its a shapeshifter. At best it could slow it down. As far as the grenade goes, he has gloves on, its been a long night, and the grenade Lars was using was a thermite grenade....which are not meant for throwing. (Look it up).
