CAMERAS AS A TESTIMONY TO MEMORY

Your schooldays, your dad's birthday, those night-time strolls with your first love, the birth of your second child, and so on. What happens when it starts to get difficult to recall all those memories? Does part of a person's identity fade into oblivion? In his documentary "Les ombres i els dies" (Shadows and Days) the journalist Marc Parera reflects on this, focusing on three women suffering some form of neurodegenerative disease. The wealth of material that emerges from their conversations on Catalan culture, religion and war, and the documentary itself, have earned him the first Solé Tura documentary award, sponsored by the Fundació Uszheimer.
