"Players" : A 10 Minute Tribute To The 1979 Film ~ Starring Ali MacGraw & Dean Paul Martin

This 1979 romance set against the backdrop of Wimbledon, starred Ali MacGraw and the late Dean Paul Martin (Dean Martin's son), who was killed in a plane crash in the late 80's. The film was supposed to be MacGraw's big comeback after "Love Story" made her a star, However, the film was a financial failure and has been long forgotten. It's actually a vary good film that features what I believe to be one of the best film scores ever by composer Jerry Goldsmith. Steve Guttenberg appeared in the film as Martin's friend, and the original cut of the film featured Rue McClanahan (of television's "The Golden Girls"), but her scenes were cut.

I loved this movie!!! I recall wanting to buy a Fila shirt as a kid (who spent every free hour playing tennis) but had no way of affording one. Haha
