Why I watch Al Jazeera: An American Explains

bundangbear is somewhat of a news junkie, and he hates being spoon fed propaganda. He quit CNN, FOX, and the American networks long ago. He tries to read the NYT, Guardian, IHT, Der Spiegel three or more times a week, and finds Al Jazeera to be honestly the most fair and balanced news network out there.

George, have you ever actually say down and watched al Jazeera? They trumped ALL international news sources in their coverage of Zimbabwe, Myanmar, and Thailand. Yes, a lot of news happens outside the middle East, and I find al Jazeera just provides a much, much more international dimension to journalism than ANY other international sources, Middle East issues aside.

bundangbear watches Al-Jazeera because it fulfills his fantasy of being a TRAITOR. He hates America because he is still holding a grudge about the Indian thing (and yes, I will use that term...if you don't like America why the hell do you want to be called a Native American?) and because the American way has assured that not even a 50-something spinster on suicide watch would be desperate enough to date him. No wonder he dislikes the American way so much!

They do hit pieces on things that americans value all the top, specifically the rights enshrined in the bill of rights.

I agree. Al Jazeera is really good. It goes into so much detail. Yes it seems most of it’s focus is on the Middle East, but on CNN or FOX, these two are just to make America look good.

Al Jazeera sees all the sides and gets stories from people who would never have their story heard. It’s highly important for people to tell their story told, in particular the ones who witness oppression or are being oppressed. It must be heard. I’m so grateful to Al Jazeera.
