I have a couple of fuzz boxes from the man himself Dennis Cornell. Dennis built the original Fuzz Face's and can boast Mr. Hendrix on his list of clients. He knows fuzz! There have been a couple of boxes from Cornell, the first one being the Fuzz Face and the second being (randomly) the 1st Fuzz. Both are FF circuits and bosth are NKT275's. Head to head do they sound different? You tell me..

  • Very consistent, I like it

  • they both sound smashing, now to check my funds!

  • SOUNDS AWESOME!

I really want one, especially the first fuzz with its thicker sound!

But is it a re-issue NKT275? And is that a fender strat?

    Thanks

  • Round one is brighter, though its as much to do with the trannies as anything, no two muffs are the same~! you could well buy two of these and that characteristic be reversed.

  • Is the First Fuzz the 'Original' NKT275 or the 'Re-issue' NKT275version?

Does the FuzzFace have 'Original' 275's in it?

    Excellent demo BTW.

  • What is the name of the song at the beginning? I've heard it before, they used the part starting at 0:10 in one of my favorite cartoons of all time.

  • Both are really great sounding pedals. I like the smaller version because it takes up a lot less space on the pedalboard, but the round one is a classic! I hear some differences, but nothing to mention.

  • the fuzz face one seems to have just a touch more treble. the crome one just seems to have more bass and be just a hair heavier. :) i want them both! XDD

  • How is the cornell 1st Fuzz compare to the JH-F1 in terms of sound and authenticity ? I know they are different as the JH-F1 is a BC-108 transistor fuzz and the Cornell is NKT type . I looking for the best fuzz face pedal for my rig without have to spend a thousand bucks for it . Thanks man, your demos are the best ! Rock on !

  • It's really hard to tell sometimes whether the tonal difference has to do with the compression of the internet/cameras used in these videos or if its really that much of a difference.. Sometimes when I make videos and I go from clean to dirty the compression in my camera changes even as I play. Be nice to be in the room and hear the dif.
