Skyrim :: How to Kill a Troll :: TerrbleTrioHerb

Ran across a Frost Troll in Skyrim, luckily I had a book on "Troll Slaying" handy, quickly read it and learned about the Troll's weakness to fire!

Basically what I did:
1. Re-health/stamina (duh)
2. Activate all my fire-based weaponry, used a fire scroll/spell etc
3. Infected my fire-sword with a paralysis potion (because Trolls tend to kill you fast, so paralyzing it helps)
4. Kill it fast! Kill it with fire!

I dont want to turn down the difficulty and im stuck on this mission were im required to clear this cave of trolls for the companions :/ my lvl 5 Orc's destruction skills are of course not up to par, my fire having no affect on them.

@TwittSoup Hmm sounds like a rough situation. Usually I would just do a few other quests until I'm strong enough to face a hard quest, but If you really want to conquer that one, a good technique is to find a spot in the cave, or an angle, where you can sit back and hit the bad guys with arrows while you're out of their reach :)

were did you find the book?

@DaKook14 uh Warmaidens in Whiterun (the armory guy, i think it was on a table or something; wasn't stolen). But you can find it randomly anywhere.. that's the thing about books. I've found this troll book a few different times

is this for all trolls? fire? and that paralysis potion. do you know anywhere i could get some?

@serpenteene Fire works well for all trolls, but it's most effective versus Frost Trolls.

Paralysis is good for defeating almost any enemy (some, powerful, can resist it).

For actually getting Paralysis Poisons, a good place to buy is Whiterun; there's a good medicine person there.

Or you can make the stuff on your own using Imp Stool, Fungal Pods, and Canis Roots. (any combo of the 3, i think). The best place to find those ingredients (ive found) is the swamps near Morthal.

I hate trolls! They are so hard to kill. I usually just run as fast as I can away from them lol. But one of these days I'm going to return and wipe them all out.

@TerrbleTrioHerb wow cant believe that was like 7 hours ago o.o thanks to the super bowl i only advance like two lvls since then. Berseker rage works at any tough point my Orc gets stuck in. He's hella strong but has no durability against two handed weapons
