Nick Jonas' Mom Talks Type One Diabetes

He's a heart throb and a tween favorite, but Nick Jonas has also been very open about a very personal battle. Each year, more than 13-thousand young people in the United States are diagnosed with "Type One Diabetes" including Nick Jonas.

For both the child and the family, the challenges of living with diabetes can be daunting. Denise Jonas spoke out about the struggles on Fox 2 Friday morning.

She also talked about a special "Once Upon A Time" contest. Families are asked to submit a story, a poem or even a song inspired by their experience with "Type One Diabetes." The winner of the contest will get to go to the "2012 Children With Diabetes International Conference" in Orlando.
