  • ITV are currently trying to locate where they originally came from seems since 1988 they've 'vanished' - although one possibility is they're from ATV Today, however ATV Today was broadcasting colour and the film would have been colour inserts for that show by then so its unlikely from ATV Today. Possibly Seven Network telerecordings who were showing it from 1972 onwards, and will be somewhere in the ITC/ATV Film Library.

  • Are these B&W telerecordings still in existence?

  • No longer lost episodes. They're not listed in the valuts but are shows 1883 27/3/73

    and 1885 29/3/73. Now rediscovered.

  • I think most of those clips would have originally gone out in colour, but only b/w cine clips remain as colour videotape was very expensive in those days, so a lot of stuff was recorded onto black and white film instead.

  • Obviously some of these clips are from episodes STILL missing from the ITC library. Also the episodes which was a 'two hander' (with flasback clips) where Sheila Harvey is also still missing, which wasn't in 1988 when a clip featured in This Is Your Life.

  • Vera looks like she is in Boney M.

  • @lowerloxley Ah, i thought it was just repeats of random old episodes, not a documentary with clips of old episodes

  • The Central ident would have been appropriate when this documentary was made.

I have the actual episodes on DVD, they do not have an ATV ident, they are b/w film copies of colour episodes for overseas broadcasters, they have an ITC ident instead instead of ATV, although an 'ATV Colour Production' end slide is shown followed by an ITC end cap.

  • David Hunter's syrup shows up well on these telerecordings eh?

  • I reckon Mucky Vera made a right bollocks of Meg's barnet.

  • Wasn't Vera the hairdresser,a camp old thing?

Sad a lot ofthe actors from th eorginal Crossroads are no longer with us.

  • annoying how its the central 83-87 ident rather than the b/w 1969-81 ATV ident.

  • Well "Mike" @ the fan club asked why they were not on Vol2 'Feb 08' DVD and it seems they'd been "lost" in the ITC Archive. Thankfully due to someone at ITV listening to Mike they went and hunted them out, which also lead to all the film inserts being found such as the 1967 Tunisia footage. These 2 episodes should be on a future Network DVD hopefully.
